Sharing a Sheet Load of Cards!

Hello, Friends! It's been a while since I posted here, my goodness! My last post was in April. Anywho...I thought I'd pop in today to share what I've been up to. Earlier this year I posted about Playing With Paper  well, I'm at it again! I had to take a break from coloring and posting for a bit because I was dealing with eye strain and carpel tunnel in both wrists. But, being a Creative, I needed to find another way to make the cards I love to create. THIS is where Sheet Load of Cards from Crafty Al comes in. I became a fan of Alicia years ago when she had her Sheet Load, e-zine. Loooooong time ago. Recently, I discovered her on YouTube and fell in love all over again. Her sketches are fun, easy to follow, they require little to no coloring, they allow me to use up my patterned paper AND they yield a lot of cards! It's also a super quick and easy way to build up a card stash. Alicia releases a new card sketch on the first of the month and the sketches are FREE for her YouTube subscribers. Then on the second day of the month, Alicia shares a process video where she shows how she used the sketch to create a Sheet Load of cards. So much fun! Let me show you what I've created so far. I'll start with the most recent and then work backwards.

I created these cards using the June 2021 Sheet Load sketch. Yield 8 cards!

Cute layout, right?! The patterned papers are from the Flower Garden Collection by Carta Bella that came in my Club Echo Park kit. The stamp set from Lawn Fawn is called, Magic Messages and I die cut the circle using the coordinating die set. The scalloped circle die is from Spellbinders and the scalloped rectangle die is from Honey Bee Stamps. The sentiment is embossed with WOW Clear Sparkle embossing powder.

Next up are cards I created with the May 2021 Sheet Load sketch. Yield 6 cards.

Because these cards were being made for donation, I created two sets, one for girls and one for boys.

It was love at first sight when I saw the Let's Be Mermaids collection from Echo Park. It has lots of patterned papers with coordinating stickers and that made this card creating session a breeze! The sentiment is from the  Beautiful Mermaid stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment has a gorgeous blue sparkle from Mermaid Ultra Fine embossing powder, also from Simon Says Stamp.

Here is the set I created for the Birthday Boy...

I just love these little dudes! Patterned paper and stickers are from the Party Time collection from Doodlebug. The sentiment is stamped in black and embossed with clear embossing powder and it's from the Balloon Bouquet Additions from Taylored Expressions. Side note: Shop at Taylored Expressions using this link, HERE and get $5 shop with!

Here are the cards I created with the April 2021 Sheet Load sketch. Yield 10 cards!!😲

This sketch had us create mini slim line cards! I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of the slim line cards. But I think the mini slims are adorable! The patterned papers are from the Carta Bella Flower Garden collection, the sentiment is from the Just Miss You stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and it's stamped in Fallen Leaves VersaFine CLAIR ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  If you look closely, you can see a bit of sparkle on the sides of the vertical panels. Those are peel offs from Love from Lizi!  I also added some clear glitter dots from Elizabeth Crafts. Such subtle sparkle, such big impact.

Soooo that's a little peek into what I've been creating. I plan to keep on with these and I'll post as I go along. Let me know if you try out any of the Sheet Load sketches. There are many and they are all available for FREE when you subscribe to the Crafty Al YouTube channel

Thank you for stopping by I appreciate the visit.

Love You Always~Simon Says Stamp Card Kit

Hello, Friends! Happy Sunday! So, today, I've got a Valentine's Day card to share with you. I recently did a re-set of  The Hive and I pulled out several years worth of Simon Says Stamp card kits that I've been squirreling away for reasons unknown. And Friends, when I say years, that is no exaggeration. I've got untouched card kits dating back to 2015.😞 I see the kits online and they are soooo preeeety. Then I purchase the kits, receive the kits, open the kits and love the kits and then I box up the kits and put the kits away. Whhhyy?! Well now...I need to USE the kits!! My plan is to take a kit and create cards and projects using as many of the kit items as I can. The cards will be sold, donated, mailed out, or gifted. I am overwhelmed by how much STUFF I've accumulated over the years. So. That brings me to my card share for today. I used components from the February 2019 Simon Says Stamp card kit. Gorgeous, isn't it?

What drew me in? It was the stamp set and the patterned papers! The images in the stamp set are beautiful and the scripty words are Kristina Werner's handwriting. LOVE that!  Plus, I love all things vintage. This kit was just calling my name!

Here is the first card I created with it...

You can see I've used three of the patterned papers, the card stock, the twine and the stamp set. I love that pop of black! In addition to the black card stock from the kit, I added some Love From Lizi Peel Off stickers to frame strips of the patterned paper. They add shine, sparkle and interest without adding bulk and that's a win for me!

I also finished off the inside of the card...

The stamp that I used for this came from the SSS February 2015 card kit. For continuity, I used more black card to mat the sentiment panel and more Love From Lizi black Peels Offs. The glittery pink hearts are also from Love From Lizi. I dusted a little Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edges to add to the vintage feel. I am pleased with how it turned out. (This card has been sold)

Well, that's it for me. I will continue to create with this kit until the supplies are exhausted. Then that will be one down and many, many, MANY more to go. Are any of you hoarding card kits? I can't be the only one, right? Right?! LoL! Oh! And by the way, today the March 2021 Simon Says Stamp card kit is being released. Have you seen it? It's another beauty! Do I need it? Nope! Will I buy it? Yep! 😄

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Sunday and Happy Valentine's Day!

 Blessings~

Friday Fun with Power Poppy ~ My Favorite Pair

Hello, Friends! Happy Friday! I hope you all are safe and well. Today I am featuring the My Favorite Pair digital stamp set. And I've used it to create a non-traditional Valentine's Day card. Have a look see...

I printed the image onto a piece of Gina K Designs Artist Choice card stock that had been die cut with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die. Then I colored it with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. After the coloring was finished, I stamped some spatters around with Stampin' Up!'s Crumb Cake ink and I added the same color ink around the image with a blender brush. A few Sparkling Clear sequins added interest to the greeting. And finally, I adhered the focal panel to the card base with foam tape, brushed on a little sparkle with a Wink of Stella glitter brush and that was that. Nice and easy.

For more Friday Fun be sure to visit these lovely ladies...

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!💖

Power Poppy ~ Season's Greenings

Hello, Friends! I am back with another set from the Power Poppy Quiet Christmas reveal and release. This set is called, Season's Greenings and it is one of my favorites! I adore all of the images in this set. I feel as though Marcella peeked into my thoughts and she translated them into this set...the glorious wreath, the wheelbarrow brimming with Christmas blooms, the adorable Planta Santa and the bitty bird, along with musical notes! THEN she included punny sentiments in festive fonts. So much fun here!

I fell in love with Planta Santa and he is who I showcased today...

I think this guy is just the cutest! I stamped him onto a piece of Papertrey Ink Rustic White card stock and colored him with Caran D'Ache Luminance and Prismacolor colored pencils. This card stock gave me a bit of resistance when blending and adding layers of color. This one is better suited for my Copic markers, in my opinion. Anyway, I created a very simple card. The card base is Red Hot card stock from GinaK Designs, the patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn and the focal panel was die cut with a Stitched Square die from Simon Says Stamp. I used Sparkly Fluff on his hat, a Clear Star glitter pen for sparkle and the little gold circle accents around the greeting are from Starform.

And that's all from me! Please take a moment to buzz on over to the Power Poppy blog to be inspired by the New Bloom Brigade.

Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate it!

Lovely, isn't it?! I can practically smell the paperwhites! Marcella is a master at illustrating florals! One of the things I like most about this set is the versatility. It can be used for Christmas, thank you and on into the new year. Today, I am sharing the thank you card I created.

I printed my image and sentiment onto a piece of Springhill Digital paper and colored it with Caran D'Ache Luminance and Prismacolor colored pencils. I dusted a little Speckled Egg Distress Ink around the edges of the main image and the sentiment label. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die to cut the focal point, the Friendship Jar Label die to cut the sentiment, gold peel off stickers from Love from Lizi, patterned paper is Mistletoe from Memorybox and the sparkly gems are from Pretty Pink Posh. My card base is 100lb Recollections white from Michael's and I used Toffee card stock from Taylored Expressions for matting. So, what do you think about this set?

Today, I am featuring the Heart Abloom digital stamp. I love this image. It's got big flouncy flowers that just scream SPRING!  My card....

I printed the image onto the smooth side of a die cut piece of watercolor paper and I colored it with colored pencils. I used mostly Prismacolor pencils but I also used some Polychromos, as well as a few Tombow Irojeten pencils and a couple from Blick Studio. I sat down and grabbed the colors that I liked. I didn't really plan it out. I just wanted to color. I kept this one super simple to keep the focus on that gorgeous image. I added a little sparkle to some of the blooms with a Wink of Stella glitter brush and I accented the focal image with a few tiny, shiny hearts.

Power Poppy ~ Friday Fun Day!

Hello, Friends! How's everybody doing? I hope you all are well and taking good care of yourselves and your families. I am not going to shine a spotlight on what we already know is happening in our world because you get enough of that on the news and social media. I am not being insensitive, I just choose to keep my blog posts light and positive. Sooo...let's get to the FUN in Friday Fun Day, shall we?

I am sharing a card I created with the Orchid Cascade digital stamp set. REALLY cute set and very versatile. Two really useful sentiments are included but one can easily adapt it to fit any occasion. And you know what? It's on SALE for $2.99!

Here's my card...

I printed the image onto a piece of Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream card stock. I really like this card stock because it's not bright white and it's not a yellow cream. I consider it to be the perfect neutral. It also has little flecks of fiber in it that adds a wonderful texture and it takes colored pencil very nicely. I used Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils on this one. I die cut the image with a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die and using a Picket Fence Studios blending brush, I brushed on a little Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. I matted the focal and adhered it with foam tape onto a card base of Papertrey Ink's Vintage Cream card stock and a piece of  Gotta Have Gingham patterned paper from Lawn Fawn. To finish the card, I added a little sparkle on some of the blooms with a Wink of Stella glitter brush and I accented the greeting with a few Ivory Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.

And that is it for me today. Thank you for stopping by. Please visit the Power Poppy blog to see what my team mates have created to share with you. And don't forget about the MASSIVE SALE going on right now. Almost everything is on sale!

Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe. And I'll see you back here again real soon.

Power Poppy ~ Get Wool Soon

Hello, Friends! Happy Friday!  Ready for a little Friday Fun with Power Poppy? Today, I'm showcasing the Get Wool Soon digital stamp set and I colored it with my colored pencils.

Take a look...Please click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I printed the image onto a piece of 400 Series Strathmore Colored Pencil paper. It was my first time using this paper and I really liked it! It has just enough tooth to grip the pencil pigment and it made layering the pencil very easy. It also ran through my printer with no issues because it is paper...feels a little like lightweight construction paper. Another thing to note is the color of the paper. It's not snow white and I like that, too. In order to give the focal panel a bit more stability, I simply matted it with card stock.

After I finished all the coloring, I die cut the image using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square die and while the panel was still in the die, I did a little ink blending using the Life Changing Brushes from Picket Fence Studios with Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender Distress Inks. I also added touches of sparkle by using a Clear Stardust glitter pen and some Tiny Twinkles. I used the heart die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die set to get that sweet little sparkly heart on the mug and I added Nuvo Crystal Drops to the tea. The "Thinking of You" greeting is from the Spring Border Two digi set. That's another really cute set! I may have to color that one next!

Then I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the same digi set and I accented it with a few hearts that I punched out of purple glitter paper from American Crafts.

And that is it! My card is finished and ready to be mailed. I thank you so much for stopping by today. Please visit the Power Poppy blog to see what my team mates have created to share with you. There's always LOTS of inspiration on the Power Poppy blog!

Thanks again for the visit...have a wonderful weekend!

My card...

click the photo to enlarge it

Blogger was being a stinker and I couldn't get a clear picture when I enlarged it so, if you'll click on the photo you can make it larger to see the detail. Anywho...

I decided to use the Woodland Carpet set for my card. This set is my favorite from the new release. I just love the little scenes with the toadstools, the wee snail, a bitty bird and the acorns. They just look like a place where fairies would dwell. The quotes and greetings are all so perfect for the images.

I stamped the image onto a piece of Stonehenge White paper, using GinaK Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink. I colored the image with Prismacolor Colored pencils. I added a little Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush to the toadstools, the butterfly and the snail. Then, I matted the focal image onto various patterned papers from Lawn Fawn. To finish my card off, I scattered a few tiny gems around. One can never have too much sparkle! This was such a fun image to color!

Well, now it's time for you to buzz on over to see my sweet friend, Christine.  And, if you get lost along the way...here's a list for you.

Day Five ~ Power Poppy Enchanted Garden Release

Hello, Friends! I hope you're having a great weekend so far. Did you enjoy viewing those scrumptious design team samples featuring Summer Berries? The ladies really had fun with that set.

Well, today is our final preview and we are showcasing, Floribunda. Be ready to knock somebody’s socks off (quite possibly your own) when you make a card using these stamps! Sized to fill an A2 card, the enchanted Floribunda border is composed of Fuchsia blooms, arching Lupine, Primroses, Morning Glory, a robust Dahlia, and trumpets of Honeysuckle. Use it vertically or horizontally, the sentiments all fit inside. A little hummingbird ALSO fits inside, or use him with any of our other botanical stamp sets when you would like an avian visitor. The large format stamp set is 6" x 8". This set is jaw-dropping gorgeous.

For my card, I used the main image and it was a JOY to color...

I stamped the image onto a piece of  Gina K. Designs Artist's Choice card stock. This paper was a dream to color on. It's got just the right amount of tooth to grab the pigment and make color blending a breeze. I used Gina K. Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink for all of my stamping. It's such a deep rich black and it stamps out very crisp and clear. It didn't fade or get cloudy when I colored with my PrismaColor Colored Pencils and that's a BIG plus in my book! After I finished coloring, I used a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die to cut out the focal panel and I matted that with some Gina K. Designs Fresh Asparagus card stock. I've been using Gina's card stock for years. It is my absolute favorite. I love the weight of it and the colors are luscious and vibrant. I finished my card off by adding a piece of Fresh Asparagus organdy ribbon, also from Gina K. and I sprinkled on a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. This is a really fun set to work with. I forsee this one selling out super fast!

So. That is it for the previews of the Power Poppy Enchanted Garden Collection! Tomorrow all of the stamp sets will be available for purchase in the Shop. Use the link above to access just the new sets. We will also be having a blog hop tomorrow. You've got to come back for that, because we have a special surprise to share.

Please take a moment to visit the Power Poppy blog to see the beautiful creations my team mates have to share with you.

Thank you so very much for visiting me over the last few days. I really appreciate all of your comments and encouragement. Have a restful Sunday and we'll see you right back here tomorrow.

Day Three ~ Power Poppy Enchanted Garden Release

Hello, Dear Friends! It's Friday!! Are you enjoying the previews so far?! You were blown away by the wonderful samples featuring Woodland Carpet, right? Oh my goodness! The design team really showed off their skills!

We're going to keep the party going today by showcasing Strong and Beautiful. Whether colored to the nines or stamped in a single ink, this illustration makes a gorgeous statement. An unfurling peony bloom is offset with ferns, lenten roses, and bluebells in a combination you won't find anywhere but Power Poppy. No matter how you rotate or crop this exuberant floral, you’ll come out on top! Five sentiments have clear letters so that you can color them in to coordinate with your palette, and each one carries an empowering or uplifting message. A single lenten rose (Hellebore) and fern frond can be used in conjunction with the main image or on their own. This stamp canvas measures 5" x 6'. You are going to LOVE this set!  It's definitely a must have in your collection.

For my card, I decided once again, to focus on a smaller image. I chose the single Lenten Rose.

I decided to do a little water coloring. I stamped the image onto a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock, embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Fine Detail White embossing powder and I water colored it using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Look closely at the background card stock, because I used another one of the small images, the fern, to do some tone on tone stamping to create some movement and add texture. I added a coating of Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush to give my bloom a little sparkle. I finished my card off by scattering around a few Ivory Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh.

Well, that's all I have to share today. Please visit the Power Poppy blog to be inspired by my design team mates. These ladies are on FI-YA! Such gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS creations!

Thanks for the visit! I appreciate you!

Day Two~Power Poppy Enchanted Garden Release

Hello, Friends! Happy Thursday! Soooo....how about those Big Sexy Blooms from yesterday?! Didn't the design teams do a fantastic job with that big bold beautiful background stamp? Ahh....such a versatile stamp and the designers really showed that with their various styles.

So today, we are showcasing, Woodland Carpet. This one is my favorite in the bunch. Flora, fauna, fungi and other treasures of the forest floor are celebrated in this unique new 4" x 8" clear stamp set. FIVE images and FIVE sentiments provide card makers opportunities to make both masculine and feminine cards. The vignettes are large enough to be a generous focal image. Remember to look down on you next outing, you just might miss a miraculous, mossy mound bursting with life. Rarely do I like every single image in a stamp set but this Woodland Carpet,  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE everything about it! And I can't wait for you to see the full reveal!

For my card, I opted to use one of the smaller images in the set. Sometimes those get overlooked but as I stated, I love ALL of the images in this set.

Isn't this floral just the sweetest thing?! Ahhh! I love it! I stamped the image onto a piece of Stonehenge White paper, using GinaK Designs Jet Black Amalgam ink. I colored the image with PrismaColor Colored pencils. The greeting is also from the Woodland Carpet stamp set and I accented that with a few Tiny Heart Sprinkles from Doodlebug. The camera doesn't show it but those flowers are SUUUUPER sparkly! I made this card in a 4-bar size. I thought that was perfect for showing off this cute little image.

So, that's all from me for today. Now it's time to buzz on over to the Power Poppy blog to see what the other designers have created to share with you. Prepare to have your socks knocked off! The cards are jaw dropping gorgeous!

Oh, by the way...are you coloring along with Kathy R's 30 Coloring Challenge?! It's in full swing. Read all about it by clicking HERE.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a glorious day!
