Day Eight - 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello Friends! I'm here today to share what I colored for Day Eight. My daughter gave me Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils for Christmas two years ago and I used them today for the FIRST time! I know! That's sad, right?!

This is my cast of characters for today.

The My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid ink is not only great with Copic markers, it's also perfect for watercoloring because it gives a dark, crisp impression. And, I used the same Lawn Fawn set that I used in my previous post. I stamped the florals and the leaves onto the textured side of some Strathmore 140lb cold press watercolor paper.

I used a water brush and also a traditional paint brush, dampened with water, for my coloring. I wanted to see which one I preferred. I actually like them both! The traditional paint brush with a water cup is best when done at home and the water brush is excellent for coloring on the go. For most of my watercoloring, I use a paint brush and water cup. It makes me feel more "artsy".

This picture shows how little color I lay down. Once this gets wet, it spreads like wildfire, so I add a little color at a time.

And here is my finished coloring. I blended in a few different colors, just trying things out, getting to know my pencils. I really like them! For the top flowers, I used a wet brush and swiped it across the pencil, then added the color to my image. For the bottom flowers, I colored directly onto the image and wet it and let it dry. Then, I added a different color onto the image and repeated the process. It was relaxing and fun. And that is what this challenge is all about...having fun and taking time to do something I love.

Thank you so much for visiting with me today!

Blessings~
