Power Poppy and The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge ~ Day Five

Today is the 5th of the month and that means that Power Poppy has a remixed digi for you. For those of you who are new to my blog, Marcella Hawley, the owner and illustrator at Power Poppy, releases digis on the 5's. On the 5th and 25th of each month, Marcella releases a re-mixed digi, that is an image that was released in the past, that Marcella re-works to change it up a bit. And on the 15th of the month, she releases an all new botanical digital stamp set. If you're not familiar with Power Poppy, please take a moment to buzz over and have a peek. Prepare to be amazed! Not only is Marcella an INSANELY talented illustrator but, we also have two design teams that will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS off with their talent. These ladies are the best of the best and I am honored to be among them!

Enough rambling already, let's take a look at this sweet digi set. It's called Acorn Ornaments and like allll of the other sets I've shared with you, this one is a beauty.

Ooooo....ahhhhh....soooo pretty! I just love these little guys! They are so nostalgic and so me. I like that Marcella gave us some ornaments on ribbons and some without. That makes this set soooo versatile. And the sentiments are sweet with lovely fonts.

I did a little search on The Googler and look what I found! Aren't they gorgeous?! 

They are vintage mercury glass ornaments. Just goes to show ya that acorns don't have to be brown! In your world they can be whatever color you want! My grandmother had pink ones, so that's where I went with mine. Please click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Take a look at what I did...

I took the trio of ornaments without the ribbon and created my own background paper, using Photoshop Elements. I cropped the ornaments and made three separate files, then created two different rows of ornaments. I printed the images onto smooth white card stock at Staples, because I needed laser toner.

Then I die cut a panel from the main sheet, using a stitched rectangle die. That's when the fun started! I colored the ornaments with my Polychromos colored pencils. And then...

I ran the panel thru my Minc machine and added gold foil! Oh my word! I was blown away! The sparkle on this is AH-MAY-ZING! I am working on this at night and it was very difficult to capture a good photo with my lamps on. So, when I finish this up tomorrow, I will snap a shot with natural light.
