Shiny Apples

I usually decorate the house with apples for the month of September. I didn't do that this year, I'm too tired. I still have my summer beach theme working. So I thought to pay homage to my apple decor in storage, I would make an apple card. I colored the image with my Copics, I really love my Copics! On the bucket, I colored it in and then used the colorless blender to pull some color off, I was going for a weathered look. Then I put some liquid glass on the apples and on the apple outside of the bucket, I stamped and colored an extra one to put up on a pop dot. The background paper adds a real rustic feel because it's a bit distressed. I think I'm going to make a set of these and send them off to a friend. Thanks for looking!

Supplies-Cardstock:Colonial White, White Daisy, Bamboo(CTMH). Paper:Route 66 Level 2 paper pack(CTMH). Stamp:Give Thanks(SU!). Ink:Black,Bamboo(CTMH). Color Medium:Copic Markers. Other:Liquid Glass(CTMH). Raffia from WalMart.

I'm glad you stopped by today. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.

I love this card, Barb! Apples - red, yellow, or green - are, to me, the visual definition of "natural beauty." Thanks for sharing!

What a scrumptious card! Love apples...makes me want to pluck a few and make apple crisp! Yummo!

Where'd you get those Copics you love so much? I'm getting more tempted by the minute....

Thanks for sharing. Oh and as for purging...I took 3 bags to Goodwill yesterday. Yep I did. This morning I looked at the girls' room, sighed at the plethora of stuff, and said...tomorrow! LOL

Your card is so pretty Barb! Your coloring is awesome and I love what you did with the pail...and its very realistic looking. I also love the country charm of your DP and adding an apple with a dimensional was a fantastic idea....I love the look!

You've captured my heart with this card, Barb! (I LOVE that stamp and am tempted to buy it every time I see it used.) I love the paper you chose -- never would've thought about that paper pack for that, but it works perfectly! And your raffia really sets it off. Your coloring of the apples is gorgeous too!

We used to go to Oak Glen every single fall until we moved in 2006, so this will be our third season without a trip there. ;( We all miss it and the kids still ask me when we'll get to go back. *sniff sniff*
