Over and Out, Good Buddy...

That is what my Dad would say at the end of our phone conversations...Daddy went home to be with the Lord today. While we are sad, we are also rejoicing that he is no longer in pain and he can finally get some rest. He lost the ability to speak last Monday, but I still visited with him everyday and he responded to me by giving me a half smile or trying to raise his hand. We had a lovely day and evening with him yesterday, we all gathered around him, said our good-byes, loved on him and then let him rest. Daddy was the youngest of 9 children, there are 3 sisters remaining. One of them came for an early visit this morning, prayed for him and read him the 23 Psalm. She told him that all of his brothers and sisters were there and were surrounding him with love. About 30 minutes after that, he was gone. A very peaceful, beautiful passing and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you to all who have prayed for us and sent us cards. Bloggers really are the best!

Over and Out, Good Buddy....

Blessings~

Barb, I am so sorry for your loss. My eyes are filled with tears for you and your family to have lost such a sweet, dear man. He sounds like a beacon in your life and a bright light that will be missed so much. I love the stories you tell about him. I hope you will put those stories down in your scrapbooking about him.

The Good Lord has him in His arms now and your dad can watch over you. Take care, my good friend. Let me know if there is anything you need.

HUGS!

Oh my dear, sweet friend! I am SO very sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved dad. While one can be relieved he is in a better place, it's still hard letting go. I truly hope your memories of him when he was strong and healthy will help you as you move forward in your life.

I wish I could reach through the computer screen and give you a huge hug.

May you find peace and comfort in the love he is no doubt showering upon you now.

Oh, Barb...I am so sad to hear that your dad has passed away. I remember when you wrote about him at Easter and even though he was slipping, I wasn't expecting this sad news.

As everyone else has said, the many years of sweet memories you have of him will live on in your heart and bring you a bit of comfort at times when you're especially missing him. But even greater than that, I'm so glad you know the biggest source of comfort is God's great love for you and, because of and through that love, knowing you'll be seeing your precious dad again one day.

Know that you and your family will continue to be in my prayers.

God bless you, my sweet friend.

hugs,
Christi
