Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

I was so excited when I read the challenge for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop this month. It was to show off any skills you might have learned from a fellow stamper, and perhaps even give them a little shout out to thank them for the inspiration they have provided. You know I jumped on this one right away!

I want to thank Debbie Olson from Thinking Inking,  for sharing her talent with me, for taking the time to answer my millions of e-mail questions, for sharing her on-line resources and for her encouragement. I was a new card maker when I found Debbie's blog three years ago. I was in awe of her work. Her cards were so beautiful, I just had to write her an e-mail. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect her to answer back. Well, she did and she was a well spring of information.  Debbie introduced me to the wonderful world of Copic markers and that changed the way I looked at rubber stamping and card making FOR EVAH!

I decided to make a card using PTI's Day at the Beach set...Cheers to You, Debbie!

Materials Used: stamp set: Day at the Beach(Papertrey Ink). card stock: Stampers White, Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise(PTI) Gable Green(SU!). patterned paper:from the Sugar Rush collection(BasicGrey). ink:Memento Tuxedo Black(Tsukineko). ribbon:Summer Sunrise(PTI). Word Window punch(SU!). Other: Copic Markers. Envelope and Envelope Liner die(PTI).

I also had the AWESOME opportunity to meet Debbie at CHA!! I was over the moon! You can read all about that here.  I got an invitation to attend CHA from another wonderful blogging buddy, Kim. I have to tell you all  that I was recovering from surgery, but that didn't matter... I was going to CHA because I knew Debbie was going to be there! She was at the Copic booth...perfect! After the crowd thinned out around her, I was able to introduce myself. Debbie is just as sweet, kind and giving as she is on her blog. Then...I got a little one on one time with her. She gave me a mini tutorial on shading and blending...YEAH!!

Debbie Olson and me

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have an awesome weekend. Do something wonderful for yourself!  Now go on...get outta here and enjoy the rest of the Blog Hop.

Blessings~
