Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge #46

Alanna hosted the Challenge this week and she gave us a recipe challenge with a twist. We were to create a card with the following recipe: 2 designer papers, 1 stamp, and bling. The twist: add a butterfly somewhere.

Oooookay! I don't know why that was so difficult for me. All I could focus on was the fact that I've not seen a butterfly in winter. Soooo, creating a Christmas card with a butterfly on it, really was a challege for me. Thanks Alanna, I love to be stretched in my creativity. Here is what I came up with...

I used the Aspen paper pack from CTMH. The dark matting behind my focal image is paper, so I've got two DP's on the card. I used one stamp and it's an old DOTS stamp, which is the former name for CTMH (I think). The image is colored with Copics. Can you spot the butterflies? I bet you can! I used a small butterfly from a PTI stamp set and stamped it right onto the DP with Versamark ink. The bling on this card consists of a sprinkling of some delicious Martha Stewart glitter on the star and the 'fur' on the snowmans cap and I went over the little snow dots with a Sakura clear glitter pen. I also gave the card a spritz or two of shimmer spray. So there you have it...butterflies on a Christmas card!
Well, we made it to Friday! Whooo Hoooo! Does anyone have any special plans? Whatever you do, have fun and I'll see you right back here on Monday. Have a wonderful weekend. Until next time....

Blessings~

You rose to that challenge brilliantly, Barb! Another beautiful creation.

Hope you have a great weekend. We've got a birthday/Halloween party and a basketball game (Amy's 1st one) on our agenda. *Ü*

OMG Barb, this is so cute and you've totally taken me down memory lane. I remember this stamp but got rid of it when I ditched the woodies. Now I'm kind of wishing I hadn't.

I love how you added the butterflies. I'm glad you could play along this week.

Barb, you did a great job! That would have been hard for me too. Love how you incorporated the butterfly into your project. Awesome!
