Makeover Monday Challenge #4-Christmas Note Card

Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving weekend! I hope you all are enjoying this time with your family and friends. We had a good time yesterday...we started a new tradition, I think. We went out to breakfast! It was just 10 of us and we went to IHop. That was so much fun! Then we came home, had a little rest and then prepared Thanksgiving dinner. It was a really good day. And...my mother in law, Trisha, and I went out last night to take advantage of the Doorbusters at Michael's! It was freezing outside!! But well worth it! I added a few goodies to my stash.

It's time to share the card I created for the Makeover Monday Challenge issued by Andrea Walford. This week, Andrea was inspired  by Ashley Cannon Newell of A New Design blog. Ashley and I are blog buddies and her designs have inspired me for years. She has wonderful style and rarely uses patterned paper in her designs. She prefers to create her own using only stamps, card stock and ink. Her artwork is gorgeous, so have a look-see when you're finished here.

This is my card…

Supplies:
card stock: Scarlet Jewell, Kraft(Papertrey Ink)
patterned paper: Lost and Found Christmas(My Mind’s Eye)
stamp sets: Signature Christmas Greetings(PTI)  The Magic of Christmas(GinaK Designs)
ink: Versamark(Tsukineko)  Vintage Photo Distress Ink(Ranger)
embossing powders: Iridescent Ice(Stampin’ Up!) Gold Filigree(PTI)
accessories: Fancy Tags Die( Spellbinders)  ribbon(Michael’s)  rhinestones( Studio 18)

Although it may be difficult to see, I stamped the snowflakes in Versamark and embossed them with Iridescent Ice. I chose to use small snowflakes because I didn’t want them to compete with the musical notes on the back ground paper. And rather than have my sentiment strip hang over the edge of my card, I opted to use an embossed tag. I also felt that the card was lacking a little something, so I decided to add ribbon.  I liked Andrea’s use of rhinestones, so I included a few on my card as well. While I was inspired by Ashley and Andrea's cards, I was able to take items from my stash and create a card of my own. THAT is what the MMC is all about.

I had so much fun gathering materials for this challenge. I look forward to what Andrea is going to share with us each Monday. You might consider checking out the Makeover Monday Challenges, she offers up some AWESOME prizes! The prize for this week is an adorable Blitzen Holiday Planner!

And speaking of WINNING…I was randomly chosen as the winner for last week’s challenge and my Blitzen Holiday Planner has already been shipped! Soooo…join in! You never know...YOU might win.

Thank you so much for visiting me today! Have a great weekend!

Blessings~
