Pleasant Poppies-Thank You

Hello Friends and Happy Friday! My card today, features the beautiful background stamp, Pleasant Poppies from Stampin' Up! I was inspired by a lovely card, created by Andrea Walford for the Paper Crafter's Library. If you're not familiar with PCL, take a moment to have a look around. There is soooo much to see!

When I first saw this poppy stamp, I knew right away that I *needed* it. It's featured as a background stamp in the catalog, but I didn't want to cover it up, I think it's pretty as is.

I just love the 'text' background papers that are so popular right now. I stamped the image right onto it and colored it with Copic markers. This was a fast and easy card to make and I plan on making many more to add to my stash. One can never have enough Thank You cards! As a final touch, I gave the focal panel a blast of my homemade champagne shimmer spray.

I was able to capture a bit of the shimmer with my phone camera. I love this stuff! Just a few sprays adds so much to my card or project. The spray is very easy to make. I add several drops of shimmer paint to 70% alcohol in a little spray bottle. Shake to mix. And spray away!  A little goes a long way and the spray keeps nicely in the bottle.

Most of the materials I used are Stampin' Up! Others are noted...

stamp set: Pleasant Poppies, Thank You Kindly
card stock: Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip   Vintage Cream(PTI)
patterned paper: First Edition Specialty
ink: Soft Suede(SU!)  Rich Cocoa Memento(Tsukineko)  Vintage Photo,Tea Dye Distress Ink(Ranger)
other: Scallop Trim Punch(SU!)  Fancy Tags(Spellbinders)  Rhinestones(SU!)  Copic markers  shimmer spray(made with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint from Stampin' Up!)

That's it for now. Thank you for dropping in! Have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings~

Very pretty, Barb. I remember seeing the hills covered with golden poppies when I lived in CA. Miss not seeing them much around here.

Thanks for the tip about homemade shimmer mist. Very economical and it adds a great touch!

Have a lovely weekend!
