Hello Friends! I had a little time today to play with the December 2014 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. This kit is a bit different from previous months. This one focuses on a theme: Embossing. It's chock full of goodies to make embossing fun, quick and easy. Take a look...
Two gorgeous full size Ranger embossing powders and a mini Distress Embossing ink cube, that smells like cinnamon and I hear that this size was created exclusively for Simon Says Stamp to use in this kit. Fun stuff!
When I first saw the picture, I knew exactly what I wanted to create with the kit; the contents just scream CELEBRATION to me! I decided to make a goodie bag...SURPRISE!
The kit included a piece of vellum, but it was not study enough for a bag, so I used card stock vellum from Papertrey Ink. I have to say, die cutting the vellum can be tricky. I have several that landed in the garbage. The vellum makes a sweet bag, though and I think they would be really pretty for a New Year's Eve party or change out the stamps and they would make lovely table favors for a wedding.
Lots of embossing here. I used the stamp set from the kit and also a 4th of July set from Lawn Fawn. I used the embossing ink included in the kit and after I added powder and melted it, the image kept lifting. Soooo, I grabbed my Versamark and everything was fine after that. I used the Liquid Platinum powder for this bag.
After everything was embossed, I assembled the bag and added sequins. Very sparkly, very festive, very fun! The bag is slightly see-thru. I'm not sure what I would put in here. But, I think I saw a New Year's Mix online somewhere... :)
Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings~

I just heard about card stock vellum today while watching a Stamp TV video on YouTube, Barb. So I'm delighted to see you use it. Your bag is so sparkly and fun. Thanks for sharing.
What a fabulous project, Barb! How fun to use the vellum (cardstock vellum? who knew?) to make the bag. Bummer that the included ink didn't work so well, but glad you had Versamark. I love all the sparkle and shine. Would definitely make an excellent project for New Year's. Thanks so much for sharing! :)
This is fabulous. What a fun bag you've created.
