Be Mine, Valentine

Hello Friends! I finally had some time to get into the February 2015 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. And let me just say that it is a BEAUTY! It's geared towards love and Valentine's Day, but I can also see Wedding and Anniversary cards coming from these items, as well.

Take a look!

The patterned papers are just gorgeous. Also included in this month's kit is a Gold Gelato, a container of SSS Clear Embossing Powder, a paint brush and some rub-ons from the Kiss Kiss collection by Crate Paper. The stamp set is great, too, loaded with lots of sentiments that can be used anytime.

I really wanted to create a black and white Valentine, so that's what I did.

I used the Kiss Kiss rub-ons to create the focal panel for my card. I just trimmed out what I wanted and burnished them onto a piece of white card stock. Then, using a border punch, I punched the black mat and trimmed it to size. I adhered the pieces together and then I added a smattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off.

For the inside of the card, I used more rub-ons...

A simple black mat ties it all together. Easy, peasy!  I really like the clean, crisp look of the black and white.

That's all I have to share with you today. Thank you for stopping by!

Blessings~

Looks like a fun and versatile kit, Barb. I really, really like your black and white card. Very sharp and visually appealing. The sequins fairly pop off the page. Great job showing how simple can be really stunning! :)

Hi, Barb! Long time no see. ;P I LOVE this card --the black and white with the pop of red is so crisp and clean! And to think, no stamping involved?! Looks like those SSS kits have some nice products to play with.
