Day 3 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge 2

Hello Friends! For today's color share, I used my new Zig Clean Color markers again. I am not super impressed with my outcome, but I am super impressed with these markers.

First, using a Stitched Rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp, I die cut a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor CardStock. Then I stamped my image using VersFine Onyx Black ink. I sprinkled on some fine detail clear embossing powder and heat set it. I taped the image onto my watercolor board to help prevent warping.

I used three colors for this sunflower: yellow, orange and brown. And I re-purposed an empty Wink of Stella brush to do my watercoloring. There is still a bit of glitter inside, even though the liquid is gone. So, I filled the barrel with water, shook it gently and gave it a little squeeze to release the glittery water. Then, I just colored the image. I brushed on a little color and blended it out with my Wink Waterbrush.  I was left with a sparkly sunflower. Super easy! Super fun!

Then, I stamped the large smile greeting from the Happy and Smile stamp set that was included in the June Simon Says Stamp card kit. I stamped it with Versafine Black Onyx ink and embossed it. Then, I did a quick wash over the entire panel with a blue marker. I set that aside to dry and worked on the small black greeting. I stamped this in Versamark and embossed it with white powder. I matted the focal image with black and added a sprinkling of Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish it off. And that's all there was to it!

I wanted to share something really exciting with all of you...

Copic Queen, Sandy Allnock has a Copic series called EduDigi, where she focuses on one color family and she gives you tips and techniques on how to get the most from the markers. Also included in your EduDigi download, is a digital image, drawn by Sandy. The price for these self-paced courses is already very reasonable, BUT, in honor of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, all of the EduDigi courses are on SALE! Use coupon code: 30DAY2 This discount is for everyone, even if you're not participating in the coloring challenge. I asked for Sandy's permission to post about the sale on my blog and she gave me the green light. I think this is the perfect thing for those of you who have been on the fence about Copic markers. Buy one or two of these courses, then get the suggested Copic markers and follow along with Sandy as she explains how to use these fantastic markers.

And, I think that's it for me today. Thanks for stopping by!

I adore your bright sunflower and think you are pretty dang smart to add water to your Wink of Stella barrel. What a great idea to use it as your waterbrush. The effect is fantastic! Thanks for the heads up on the sale. :) Have a fantastic day!
