Day 9 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge 2

Hello Friends! I did a little watercoloring. For me, watercoloring is the most relaxing form of coloring. I turn on my music, let my mind wander and just paint away the stresses of the day. For today's color share, I used the Flutterby stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

After stamping the images onto watercolor card stock with Versamark ink, I sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat set it. I used Stampin' Up! ink pads for my coloring medium. I squeezed the pad against the lid to transfer a bit of ink and then picked that ink up with a wet paint brush. This was quick and easy watercoloring, let me tell ya! I started at the bottom of the image, where I wanted the color to be the darkest, and then I just pulled the color up to the top of the image. The color was naturally lighter, because there was less of it on the brush! Easy peasy! I did the same thing with the leaves. I let the images dry and then trimmed them out. I created 4 bar sized card bases and using the same ink that I used to watercolor, I stamped the dotty background. I die cut the focal panels with a stitched rectangle die and added a greeting from Lawn Fawn's So Much to Say stamp set. All that was left to do was card assembly. I adhered the leaves right onto the panel, the blooms are adhered with dimensional adhesive. As a finishing touch, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella and a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.

That is all I have for you today. Thank you for stopping by!

Beautiful work, Barb! I'm so happy for you that watercoloring is relaxing for you. That means we get to enjoy more watercolored cards! I like that you achieved the look on your gorgeous flowers using dye ink. I've neglected doing that squeeze trick for getting ink on the lid. Thanks for the reminder. These cards are very, very pretty! Love those colors together. Have a wonderful day!
