Power Poppy ~ Whimsical Wreaths

Hello Friends! Happy December! I am here to share a few of the cards I created featuring the wonderful Whimsical Wreath sets from Power Poppy. These wreath sets are really cool because each one includes three wreaths; one with a sentiment in the center of the wreath, one wreath that can be used as a gift tag and one wreath with no text.

Take a look...This is Boxwood and Cranberry.  I love, love, love the font on this.

This next one is Birch and Evergreens. Reminds me of a California Christmas for some reason.

For my first card I used the Felt Leaves and Fruit Wreath.

I printed the image onto smooth white card stock and colored it with Polychromos colored pencils. I wanted a light pink airy feel and I think I achieved that. Click on the picture to enlarge it. After I finished coloring, I used my Brother ScanNCut 2 to die cut it. My original plan was to have a very clean and simple card with the stitched woodgrain back ground and the wreath on the front. I planned to maybe add a sentiment on a strip of vellum at the bottom BUT...I was drinking broth when I was adding the Sparkly Fluff and Crystal Effects to this and I got a teeny tiny drop of it in the center of the wreath! Welp, I couldn't camouflage the broth droplet so I had to cover it up because I was NOT going to color another wreath. I like it...it's just not the direction I was going when I started out. PLOT TWIST! LoL! The wreath is adhered with foam tape to add a bit of dimension.

My next card features the Succulents and Baubles Wreath. I think this wreath might be my favorite.

This was sooooo much fun to work with. I printed the image onto smooth white card stock and die cut and dry embossed it with a circle Nestie. While it was still in the die, I sponged on a little Antique Linen Distress ink. I drew my color palette from the patterned paper. Isn't it sweet?! I love shopping in "my own stash" and finding long forgotten treasures. My paper stash is RIDICULOUS! And, I'm sure yours probably is too! I colored the image with Polychromos colored pencils,  then added Spectrum Sparkle and Crystal Effects to the ornaments.

I did a little inking around the edges of the card base and the patterned paper. I really wanted this one to have a nostalgic feel to it. How did I do?! And finally, I just mounted it all onto my card base and called it done!

These were really fun to play with and they are so versatile. I made a few more that I put through my Minc and added foiling. I haven't photographed them yet and I may share them in the next few days or so. The wreaths were offered in a bundle and they may still be on sale.
