Power Poppy Ruffled Wild Orchids Part Deux

Hello, Friends! I am not ashamed to admit that I am smitten with this image! I had to print it out again and have another go round with it. Don't be surprised if you see it again in the future. LoL! I've got different color combinations I want to try with it. Hey! Just between you and me, I tried it in purple and I hated it! Haha! Purple and me, yeesh! We just don't get along. I like the color fine enough, I just don't like it when I color with it. Weird, huh? Anyway...for my card today, I used yellow, which is another color I don't often reach for.

Here's what I did with it. I really just wanted to color, not make a card, so I kept the card design SUPER simple. Sometimes I color images just to color them, with the intent to create a card at a later date. Yeah, well...that usually doesn't happen and I end up donating the colored images. So, I thought that this time, I would just plop it onto some cardstock and be done with it.

I printed the Ruffled Wild Orchids onto Papertrey Ink's Rustic White cardstock. I like this paper because it has these little flecks of color already on it. It adds a little country charm and texture. The image is colored with Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils. I used Prismacolor colored pencils for the shading, specifically, the black and a pale blue. The greeting is from Easy Breezy Coneflowers, another Power Poppy digi set. I gave the blooms a bit of sparkle with a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. Then, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off. The focal is mounted onto a GinaK Designs Sweet Corn card base.

And that's all I have to share today. Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend.

Blessings~

Gorgeous, Barb! You can color any image, any time and in any color combo and I will be happy. I just love your coloring. Give in to the urge to color whenever it strikes! We can only benefit from your doing that as long as you take a picture of it and share...lol. Your yellows are so soft and delicate as are the greens. You always pick the perfect sequins, too. :) Hugs!!
