The Coloring Challenge Road Trip and Azaleas Forever!

Hello, Friends! Summer is in full swing in my neck of the woods and things are getting hot, hot, hot! We are expecting temps to be 113-114 degrees this weekend! Maaan! That's hot! Not as hot as we can get though, so I won't complain too much.

The 30 Day Coloring Challenge is behind us and while it was super fun, it was also super tiring! Oh my goodness! Did you have fun?! It's always a bittersweet time when the challenges are over. I'm sad that I won't be interacting with so many people on a daily basis but I'm also glad that I can re-direct my focus and get back to doing other things! LoL! I don't know about you but, when the challenges are in session I honestly don't get anything done. No laundry, no housework, no grocery shopping, nothing. I'm either coloring, looking at coloring, commenting on coloring, watching coloring tutorials or organizing what I'm going to color next! I'm blessed to have help that allows me to "slack off" for a few weeks.

One of the highlights of this coloring challenge was that I went to visit with Kathy Racoosin again because I went to the Coloring Challenge Road Trip stop at Hero Arts last weekend. We had a great time! I got to meet a few Instagram and blog friends and I made some new ones, too. Kathy is a gem and if she's ever in your area, I highly recommend that you go visit with her. This was my second time and she taught us all new things at this one. I told her that whenever she comes to California, I will be there!

Click the pic to enlarge it. I'm the one holding the GinaK head. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and coloring with GinaK at the last Road Trip I attended. She is such a kind and gentle spirit. LOVED her! Hey Gina!

And lastly, I wanted to share a card I made with one of the new Power Poppy digi's called, Azaleas Forever. It took me a few days to color this one but I'm super pleased with the results. The sentiment is from the clear stamp set, called Azalea. My dad grew the most beautiful azaleas when I was a girl. They were such a deep shade of magenta and had the sweetest little fuzzy leaves. My dad loved to work in his yard. Every weekend he'd piddle about and our yard and gardens looked fantastic. Hmm...memories.

Anywho...here's the card I created for day 27 of the challenge.

It's printed onto Bristol Smooth card stock. I used the 'no line' version and I colored it with Prismacolor colored pencils. I did a bit of pointillism with Copic markers for the background. And added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh sequins to finish it off.

So that's it for me today. Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend. Stay cool!

Blessings~
