Hello, Friends! It's the 5th of November and that means I have a new Power Poppy digi set to share with you. This one is called, Ultimate Poinsettia and it sure is a beauty!
Here is what Marcella has to say...
"One of our most popular holiday clear stamps is now available as a resizable digital download. Straight from the set "Winter Wonderland" without any alterations, we have the gorgeous floral spray that will bring a splash of decadence to your holiday cards! A Poinsettia is surrounded by frilly Anemones, Dusty Miller leaves, and Pepperberries. Of course we want you to color these plants in any way that brings you delight. But if you’re a purest, there are the inspirations behind my drawing! A new sentiment that you can color in joins the floral display." If you'd like to see Marcella's inspiration photos, please visit the Power Poppy blog.
Here is the picture that inspired the colors for my card. I love the soft white and the cool blues with warm red.
And here is my card...
Blessings~

And here is my card...
I had the image printed onto X-Press It Blending card at my local copy center, then I colored it with Copic markers. Next, I added a bit of shading with my Prismacolor colored pencils. After the coloring was complete, I used my laminator to foil the image with silver foil. And I gave the pepper berries a little sparkle with a Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen. A few silver studs and a silver cord bow finished the card off. I tried for thirty minutes to capture the sparkle and shimmer
on this card, but to no avail. You can see a tiny glimmer of the glitter
paper I used to mat the focal image. In real life, this is one glitzy
card!
This color palette is definitely outside of my comfort zone. But, the advertisement caught my eye and I knew I wanted to use it on a card. When I saw this set, I thought they were a perfect match. I like how it turned out. I think I'd like to add a tiny bit of chunky glitter to the Dusty Miller leaves to give the card a real frosty feel. I also think it would be pretty to print two copies of the image and then fussy cut one of the poinsettias and adhere it onto the other with foam tape to add dimension. Or use gold beads for the center of the poinsettia...so many possibilities! What a fun image to color!
So that's it for me today. Please visit the Power Poppy blog to see what my teammates have created to share with you.
Oh! It's day five of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Are you coloring along?:)
Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate the visit. Have a wonderful week!
Blessings~

I'll just bet this does shimmer and glimmer spectacularly in real life, Barb! Beautiful depth on the poinsettia bloom. Your coloring is wonderfully realistic and someday I'm going to color this the way Marcella intended, too.
Gorgeous, Barb! What a lovely color palette. The red is so vibrant and beautiful. I just love everything you create, Barb. You have such an attention to detail. I'm sure this is wonderfully glittery/shimmery in real life. It's gorgeous in the picture. Wish I could say I was coloring along this month, but it's really going to be hit or miss, probably mostly miss. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty!
Oh, Barb, what a gorgeous card and a wonderful inspiration photo that was your color palette. Such a stunning and rich red for your poinsettia, and i love how you've finished your card with the silver cord. Stunning, sweet friend! Hugs!
