With Gratitude for Veterans Day

Hello Friends! Happy Veterans Day! I just want to say a great big THANK YOU! to our Veterans...past and present. I understand that freedom is not free and I appreciate all that is being done to keep our country safe and free.

I am sharing a card I made in honor of Veterans Day. I used an adorable image from Meljen's Designs, called American Angel. I just found out that Melissa, from Meljen's Designs, is giving away this image plus one other for 24 hours, to all of her Facebook Club members! For my card, I printed out a few copies of the image. Then, I did a bit of fussy cutting and added dimensional adhesive to her wings, the stars and the flag.

She was an absolute joy to color! If you look closely, you will see my little "oopsie!" My brown marker slipped from my hand and made a little mark on her cheek. My first thought was to trash it and start over, but I decided to just consider it a birthmark and call it done. I always color hair and skin first, just in case I make a mistake and that is what I did for this image. But I really liked the way her skin turned out and I didn't know if I would be able to duplicate it, so I just went with it. :)

Gorgeous, Barb, both the image and the sentiment you shared about our veterans. You are truly a marvel, I must say. Thank you for sharing! Love every detail about this card!
