Day 17 - 30 Day Coloring Challenge

Hello Friends! Happy Friday! We made it through another week and March is marching on...I can't believe it's already the 20th! Oh! I almost forgot...HAPPY SPRING! My coloring share today is all about Spring, take a look at what I worked on today. Click on the images to enlarge them.

Here is my cast of characters. I've been really showing my Copic markers some love during this challenge! I wanted to color something floral for the first day of Spring, and I thought the Dancing with Daffodils digital stamp from Power Poppy was just perfect.

I printed the images onto smooth white card stock and die cut them. I wasn't sure which shape I wanted to work with, but ultimately I decided on the rectangle for today. I went with a pretty traditional color palette for the daffodils and periwinkle. I want to do something a little different on the oval...but that's for another day. And by the way...I used 24 different Copic markers on this image. 24! My little coloring cup couldn't contain them all. I turned on some Christmas music and just got lost in the coloring, reaching for different markers for shading and shadows. I had SO MUCH FUN!

Don't you just love this image?! I sure do. And that snail is sooo adorable! I am smitten with Marcella Hawley's illustrations.  Her attention to detail is fantastic! A snail! She is doing something really neat in her Shop, too. It's called the Instant Garden. On the 15th of every month, she will release a new digital flower stamp. Dancing with Daffodils is the March release.

After I finished coloring the image, I decided to make a card with it.

I die cut some patterned paper with one of the Postage Stamp Edge Frames from Simon Says Stamp and adhered that to my card base. I use Neenah Solar White 100# card stock for my card bases. It's really heavy and makes the card feel more professional, in my opinion. I kept the card design super simple to keep the focus on that gorgeous Power Poppy image. I stamped my greeting with Lawn Fawn's Black Licorice ink and punched it out with a Stampin' Up! oval punch. I adhered that straight onto the card. I wanted to keep this one flat. As a finishing touch, I added clear Wink of Stella to the daffodils and the tips of the periwinkle blooms. Then, at the last minute, I decided to put on a few sequins. And now, looking at the snail, I'm thinking I should add some Glossy Accents to his shell.

So, that's it for me today. I wanted to let you know that my mom has not been doing too well and I may need to go be with her. If that happens, I will not be able to continue with the coloring challenge. But, I will post here and let you all know. Thank you for visiting me today. I appreciate it!

Blessings~
