Power Poppy ~ Layer Cake Number Deux

Hello Friends! Happy Tuesday! I have another Layer Cake card to share today. I printed out several of these, so I could color at whim and create a few birthday cards...some for my stash and some for my card boutique.

This one is not as flashy and sparkly as the first one I shared but, I like it just the same. Have a look...

Isn't it scrumptious?! My favorite cupcake bakery sells the most amazing cupcake. It's chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream, called Strawberry Hill and it is delicious! The cake is dark and moist and the buttercream is flavored with real strawberries, so there are little strawberry seeds in it and it's tinted a pale pink. That was my inspiration for the color palette I used.

I printed the cake image onto smooth white card stock and colored it with Copic markers. I die cut the focal panel and while it was still in the die, I dusted on a little Antique Linen Distress Ink. I went over the banner and cake plate with a Clear Wink of Stella. It's a shame I can't capture the sparkle better. It's subtle, but still very nice. My card base consists of lots of oldie's but goodies. I was digging thru my old Close to My Heart 12 x 12 paper stash and came across this paper pack. I thought it was perfect for my card. I love the little coffee/tea drips at the bottom. Cake and coffee/tea, what could be better?

And that is all I have to share today. Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the visit.

Blessings~

Great card. I want a piece of that cake! Gorgeous color choices and blending. Love the papers, too. Question: when you printed this digital image, did you have to heat set the ink? I have an ink jet printer. Thanks for always sharing your talent. Yum!
