Power Poppy ~ Cuppa Buttercups

Hello Friends! It's the 25th of the month, so I've got a new re-mixed digi to share. This sweet image comes from one found in the Power Poppy clear set called, Marcella's Mixtape. This set was one of the first sets released with Power Poppy! If there are any left, I suggest you pick it up. There are a lot of fun images and cool sentiments in that set, very versatile! Okay, back to today's digi.

This adorable little set is called, Cuppa Buttercups and it features a darling little cup, overflowing with buttercups and three lovely sentiments. How sweet is that?! Once again, Marcella has combined my two loves; flowers and tea(tea cups) *swoon*

I did a little research and discovered that buttercups come more colors than just yellow. Buuuut...I decided to color mine the traditional yellow color, because really, WHO doesn't want a cheerful cup full of yellow buttercups?! Please click on the picture to enlarge it.

Well, this was just too much fun to color! I printed the image onto a die cut piece of Bristol and before the ink could dry, I sprinkled on fine detail clear embossing powder and melted that with my heat tool. I should also mention that I used an embossing buddy on the card stock prior to printing. That way the embossing powder sticks only where I want it to. I set it aside to cool for a bit, then using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens, I did a little watercoloring. Nothing fancy, I just put the color down and moved it around with a damp paint brush. Bristol is not watercolor paper, so I didn't want to go too heavy with the water, otherwise the paper would pill. I liked having the embossed edge to "hold" the color in place, it made it super-de-duper easy to watercolor. I mounted the focal panel onto my card base with foam tape. I went over each petal with a Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush and added Crystal Effects to the teacup. See?

And here is a look at  how I finished the inside of the card...

I replicated the outside on the inside for continuity. Easy peasy! Don't you just love the versatility of digital stamps?! I was able to re-size this image to fit the inside of my card just perfectly. This one has also been embossed and watercolored with Zigs.

So, that's it from me today. Please take a moment to visit the Power Poppy blog to see what my Teammies have created to share with  you.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Blessings~
