Power Poppy ~ Miraculous Mushrooms

Hello, Friends! We've made it to the last day of our 5 Days of Digis! Have you been enjoying the release? Marcella has really outdone herself this time! Well, today's image is one you may recognize from the recently released clear set called, Wild Mushrooms.  I was so pleased when I learned that Marcy was releasing an image from this set and even more pleased to see that she had chosen my favorite one! She's calling it, Miraculous Mushrooms and I just LOVE it!

Here is what Marcella had to say about this image...

"From our wildly popular Wild Mushrooms clear set, I’ve selected a favorite drawing, the Fly Agaric or Amanita muscaria, to release as a digi. The only difference, this image is a little larger than the clear stamp, and I've also taken out the lettering that identifies the mushroom, to allow for a bit more flexibility with your creation.

The Fly Agaric mushroom is the classic red-capped mushroom with white spots — as seen in countless fairytale books, it's also an emoji on your phone.

Enjoy bringing this forest treasure to vibrant life — and I hope you are filled with as much of a thrilling feeling while coloring as I feel while drawing the finds from my mushroom hunting adventures!

Includes a no-line version along with a wonderful sentiment for the inside of your card from that sage, Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Adopt the pace of nature; Her secret is patience.""

And here is my card...

I printed the image onto a piece of Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream card stock and I colored it with Copic markers. I used a Dark Umber Prismacolor pencil to do the shading. I like using a pencil for shading over Copic markers, as it gives me more control and I don't run the risk of getting the image too dark. This one was a fun one to color! I went over each of the spots with a white gel pen to help them stand out a bit more. Then I gave each mushroom a light coating of sparkle with a Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. I created the woodgrain piece using the Woodgrain Backdrops stamp set from Lawn Fawn. After I finished stamping, I die cut a circle out of the center then I sponged on a bit of Stampin' Ups Soft Suede ink and mounted the piece with foam tape onto the focal panel. I stamped the greeting from the Power Poppy Natural Beauties clear set onto a scrap of Papertrey Ink's Kraft card stock and embossed it. I used one of Lawn Fawn's Everyday Banner dies to cut the strip. I inked it slightly and then adhered it to the card front. I added a few chocolate gems as a finishing touch.

So, that's it for me. I hope you have enjoyed our 5 Days of Digis and I hope you picked up a few new images for yourself. Please visit the Power Poppy blog for more inspiration.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday!

Blessings~

This card reminds me of my Mom. She had a "forest" of bright red mushrooms with white spots. You've done them perfectly! Thanks!
